Police say Chess was arrested on October 12th for two separate attacks that occurred on September 20th and October 10th. Chess made bail and was released from The Monroe County Jail. Then, a third victim came forward claiming she was also sexually assaulted on October 10th. Chess was arrested again October 24th. "Anybody needs to be aware when they're dealing with someone online," said Capt. Martin Corbett. "You don't always know what you're dealing with or what circumstances are." Police say at least one of the victims was robbed. Investigators found stolen items at Chess' house.
If convicted Chess faces 5 to 25 years on each charge. He could get more prison time if more victims come forward. "We are not going to judge their background or them as a person," said O'Brien. "This case is about the defendant and him using force and that's important here. So everyone can come forward and know we are going to take each and every case and look at it very seriously."
