For the past three years Al Deporter has owned the Waterside Wine Bar.

"It's one of the only wine bars on the north side of the Finger Lakes," said Al Deporter, owner of Waterside Wine Bar.

Deporter says being from the area he knew Phelps was the perfect place to open a wine bar.

"I wanted a place where adults can go, my age, to relax have a nice glass of wine, because I love wine. Where they can really enjoy people have a nice conversation and not just go into the busy bars where there are shots going on," said Deporter.

They offer 25 different New York State wines, as well as 20 wines from all over the world. Also craft and draft beer.

Deporter says many people come to waterside wine bar as a stop along their way.

"People come through, and the see the sign and they stop they may be going on a wine tour, or come back after they are done or start here," said Deporter.

And with people coming here from all over the area the Waterside Wine Bar says they will soon be expanding.

"We are going to do that in the next month, expand mostly a party room meeting room because there is a need for that around here," said Deporter.

This is a very warm, peaceful, relaxing, yet entertaining establishment. Al has done a fabulous job with the place and I can't wait to see the new expansion. Visit the Phelps Waterside Wine Bar for a relaxing evening, anytime!
