Steamboat Landing

"I mean look at our view you can't go wrong," said Randy Whitney, a manager at Steamboat Landing.

Steamboat Landing is on the North end of
Canandaigua Lake, and has been a popular attraction for years.

Owners say between the banquet hall, the Cove restaurant and the Canandaigua Lady it has something for everyone.

"Canandaigua is a great community. I mean we want to welcome everyone here. We just want to be a part of the community, and for a great time everyone can come down here and have a good time," said Whitney.

The Cove serves lunch and dinner, and for those who want to take their meal outside, they can dine aboard the Canandaigua Lady.

"The Canandaigua Lady, it's a part of Canandaigua. You think of the boat and you think of Canandaigua and it's a great thing," said Whitney. "It's been here 15 years, and actually paddle boat of the Mississippi. It was refurbished this year. Brand new bar, bathrooms, brand-new everything," continued Whitney.

The boat goes out multiple times a day in the summer, and draw people from all over.

"It's a tourist town, over the months, the summer months, we see people from all over the place. From
Maine, Canada, California every place they all come down here," said Whitney.

Employees say the future of Steamboat Landing can only mean good things for Canandaigua.

Owners plan to build a six story resort here with about 100 rooms and condos right on the lake.

"When people come to our resort they are going to stay here for a week, and they will spend their money all over Canandaigua. It will be great for the economy, great for Canandaigua and great for us," said Whitney.

The hope is to show everyone a little taste of what it's like living here.

"It's like a little stay-cation here on the lake," said Whitney.
