Former professional Rob Strano showed the students the proper way to swing and hit a ball. He conducted the lesson using American Sign Language.
He said usually, even if a deaf or hard-of-hearing child takes a golf lesson with an interpreter, some of the information is lost in translation. He said by knowing the game of golf as well as sign language helped the kids understand the game.
The students started their day off playing at the Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor. While there they hit some balls and met LPGA pro Brittany Lincicome.
