"A hand shake out here means everything," said Joseph Lee,

"Back then they were known for their peaches. They even had a baseball team named the Hilton Peaches. Then they got into the apples and the apple orchards. Of course now they are well known for the apples," said Lee.
Hilton hosts The Apple Fest each fall, drawing people from all over the area.
"On a good weekend we get ten, fifteen thousand people through this little village," said Lee.

"Everyone goes by you it's, 'Hey, how you doing?' They may not know you, they introduce themselves," said Larry Zimmer,
"It's the people. The people are so friendly," said Lee. "Some body gets a house fire or a tragedy, or a bad accident the fundraisers out here are a constant thing," continued Lee.
The people who live in Hilton say everything is right where you need it.
"They have the youth program, the pre-school, the senior center. You can get involved in a lot of different organizations," said Mance.
"Everything is in walking distance banks, restaurants. The neighbors are great," said Zimmer.
