Michael Briganti scored a power play goal with 1:29 left in the third period to finally put Athena/Odyssey on top in their state quarterfinal against Ithaca Saturday afternoon at Lakeshore Ice Arena. Jonathan Clark added an empty net goal a minute later and the Thunder had a 2-0 win.
Ian Cumming made 18 saves for the shutout. The Thunder will next play Saturday, March 12 at the state semifinals in Utica. Faceoff is scheduled for 5:45pm.
