Voters React to Chris Lee's Resignation

The sign lighting former Congressman Chris Lee's light remained on Wednesday night along Ridge Road in Greece. Just after 8:00 p.m., two aides locked the doors and rushed out of Lee's office without responding to News 8's questions. However, word of Lee's sudden resignation spread quickly throughout the 26th District.
"Well I am heartbroken because I voter for him and in fact I sent him a letter today saying he upheld moral values, I can't believe I sent that today," said Carol Leary, once a Lee supporter.
Carol Leary says she just met with some of his aides in the Greece office this week to discuss her concerns about the budget.
She says Wednesday's news came as a shock. Leary's congressman was disgraced and resigned.
It all happened following a revealing photo of him was sent through Craigslist.
"It's very disheartening. The people that you trust that they don't meet up to your expectations," said Leary.
And inside a Greece hair salon, the conversation went from hair to political disapproval.
"Definitely done some emotional damage especially to his family and for the people that are big supporters of him, I think he's done some emotional damage to them," said Erica Englert, a voter.
"This is out if line, obviously he's totally out of politics he's not going to make a comeback as something as lameheaded as that," said Mike Pierce, a voter.
"In that case if he can't control himself I can't see how he can govern well," said Sue Przybyli, a Greece resident.
The voters News 8 spoke with say they think Lee did the right thing by stepping down. Now, they just wonder who will end up taking his now open seat.
