(Homer, NY) The Marion Black Knights girls soccer team today garnered the New York State Class C state championship with a 1-0 victory over Sauquoit Valley  (Section III).  Olivia Suhr scored the game's only goal in the the second half.

Suhr now has two state title winners in eight months. She hit the winning shot as time expired to give Marion a state championship in basketball last March. Suhr credited the experience winning in basketball as helping Marion stay composed in the soccer final. It was the school's first ever girls soccer state championship.
