Rally Today Over Paladino's Controversial Remarks, Apology

By: WROC-TV
Updated: October 17, 2010

Protesters will rally today outside the Rochester office of the Republican gubernatorial candidate.
The "Rally for Civility and Respect," will start at 4:30 this afternoon at the Tops Plaza on South Clinton Avenue in Brighton, where Carl Paladino just opened his Rochester headquarters.
Marriage Equality New York, Pride at Work, AFL-CIO and Equality Rochester will be taking part in the demonstration.
These groups are not satisfied with Paladino's apology for comments he made about homosexuality over the weekend. The gubernatorial hopeful said he didn't want children brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equal and valid option.
Paladino made the initial comments before a conservative Brooklyn synagogue.
