(Rochester, NY)… The Rochester Knighthawks will open their 2011 National Lacrosse League Training Camp the weekend of Saturday, November 20th to Sunday, November 21st in Rochester.
The Knighthawks will hit the floor on Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Rochester Sports Garden (1460 E Henrietta Rd). On Sunday, the team will practice from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Total Sports Experience in Gates. The practices are free and open to the public. Players and coaches will be available for autographs following the workouts.
In December, the Knighthawks will play two scrimmage games. The first contest features the Philadelphia Wings on Saturday, December 11th at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Rochester will then battle the Boston Blazers on Saturday, December 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the ILA.
Prior to Training Camp, the Knighthawks will hold open tryouts for the 2011 season on Saturday, October 23rd and Sunday, October 24th at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario. The tryouts are limited to 50 players, which will be trimmed to 36 on Friday, November 15th in preparation for Training Camp. The Knighthawks 23-man roster will be announced on Thursday, December 23rd. All interested candidates attending the tryouts must submit all necessary information and be fully registered by the end of the day on Friday, October 8th in order to participate. The Knighthawks will open the season on Saturday, January 8th in Minnesota against the West Division Swarm. The Knighthawks will open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, January 15th against the Toronto Rock at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
