"I just started doing each one of them and then fell in love with each one," said Steve. "Musical theater is just an expression of everything you want to do in life and trombone you just, the music's just awesome."
Steve is a staple in school musicals and community theater. At Wayne Central, he's had lead roles in every show. But he's also recognized as among the most talented student singers in the state. For the past two years, he's been selected to participate in All-State, both in mixed choir and vocal jazz.
"That was really cool, being one of six tenors across the state chosen," said Steve.
Teacher Kathy Perconte says Steve is one of her best students ever.
"Students like Steve don't come along very often in a teacher's lifetime," said Perconte. "It kind of ups the ante for everybody else, they want to be just as good as the top student so they try all the harder."
"I hope to be on Broadway, that as much as anyone can hope, but I'll be happy if i'm just making a living doing what I like to do," said Steve.
Steve's passion for music is driving his plans for the future. Next year, he heads to SUNY Fredonia to study musical theater. A talented actor whose bright dreams are putting him right on center stage.
