Canandaigua, NY -- A teacher is accused of texting and emailing three students with promises of sex.
Marla Gurecki-Haskins was charged on Monday. She has been on administrative leave since April 13th. That's when the Canandaigua City School District went to the Canandaigua City Police Department, who began investigating her.
The teacher faces several charges. The most serious is a felony. Gurecki-Haskins allegedly invited a 16-year-old to engage in sexual acts with her through text messages. For that, she faces a charge of disseminating indecent materials to a minor.
Gurecki-Haskins is charged with official misconduct for alleged oral sex with a 17-year-old student. The charges would be more serious, but 17 is the age of consent. The alleged incident happened at Canandaigua Academy, the high school.
Gurecki-Haskins is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child because of two alleged email messages sent to 16-year-old boys.
Gurecki-Haskins has worked at the district since 1995.
