In 2007, she started the schools' wellness committee. For that, she's a Healthy Hero.
"Overall, we're just trying to create healthy children that can have habits that last a lifetime," said Rabidoux.
Those habits include yoga during the day without disrupting learning, and the Tasty Tuesday program.
"I've heard from a lot of parents a lot of friends, they love it," said Daryl Herlehy, a parent co-coordinator of Tasty Tuesday. "They love that were doing this and incorporating healthy snacks and giving great ideas to the kids."
The program is run completely by parents. Once a month, they serve the children healthy, fresh snacks. Some of them have included apples and cheddar cheese, sweet potato chips and even a taste of heart healthy dark chocolate.
"We wanted to give the children an opportunity to try new foods with healthy snacks, and to learn more about nutrition and things and foods that will make them feel good about themselves," said Adrienne Markus, a parent co-coordinator of Tasty Tuesday.
At the end of every Tasty Tuesday, the children take a recipe sheet home to their families.
"Parents are giving us great feedback. They're asking us 'how come my child doesn't have as much yoga this year as they did last year?,' or 'thank you for introducing my child to tasty snacks they're making better choices at home,'" said Rabidoux.
"I've learned that different tastes can come in different forms," said Adina Feldman, a student. "It's a cool experience for kids to try different things so they know what they might like in the future."
