Matt Zeller Has Filed to Run for Congress

By: WROC-TV
Updated: October 17, 2010

According to the Federal Election Commission, Zeller has filed to run for Congress to represent the 29th District.

News 8 had learned earlier in April that Zeller was the Democratic Party's choice to run against Republican Tom Reed, a former Corning mayor.  There still has been no "formal" announcement.  Click here to see Zeller's name included in the interactive NY map on the FEC's website.

Zeller is a 28-year-old Army veteran from Rochester who now works in national security in Washington, D.C.

The 29th District Seat is open after Republican Eric Massa resigned amid allegations of sexually harassing his staff members.
