Great 8 - 5/27/08

After a week off to make room for Senior PGA coverage, the Great 8 is back.

Playoffs begin for high school spring sports today...so this, the top 8 performances for the final week of the regular season.

Number 8, Connor McDermott, Pittsford. Four goals in a season ending victory for the Panthers.

Number 7, Tasha Parker, East Rochester. A two hitter with 10 strikeouts in a win for the Bombers.

Number 6, Geno Marcello led Churchville-Chili to a pair of wins early last week. Four goals and two assists Monday, three more goals Tuesday.

Number 5, Jess Winkler, Greece Arcadia. 14 strikeouts on the mound.... 2 for 2, with two runs and two RBIs at the plate... all adds up to a W for the Lady Titans.

Number 4, Kyle Van Thof with another big game for Penfield. Five goals and an assist, helping the Patriots to a win.

Number 3, Erin Nargi whiffed 14 more in a game last week... making Victor victors once again.

Number 2, Meghan Coffey, Greece Odyssey. Pitched and hit the Leopards to a win, a five hit shutout with 8 strikeouts plus she went four for four with an RBI.

Number 1, Alissa Dixon, Webster Schroeder. Pitched her third no-hitter of the season Tuesday with 11 strikeouts. Backed it up with a one hitter and six more K's Friday, both wins for the Warriors.
