At Canandaigua Academy, Michael Bjorling is well-known for his discipline and his leadership - both off stage and on. Here he is rehearsing the school production of Les Misérables. Hes been singing and acting since the 7th grade.

"Its fun, I usually dont feel like Im working," said Michael. "My first show, I was really nervous, but as the years have proressed its calmed down a bit."

This year michael was selected to perform in two prestigious groups: The New York State School Music Association Conference All-State Mixed Chorus, and the American Choral Directors All Eastern Honors Choir.

"Hes worked hard to achieve things and that inspires others to work hard as well," said Amy Story, the vocal director. "Michael has certainly been on of those who has lead the way in what hard work and achievement can help you to reach."

Next year, Michael will attend Brigham Young University. Hes not sure if hell study music, but he wont leave it behind.

"I think its good to have your options open, to be able to do that. If I stopped singing for a time, I would lose some of what Ive worked for, and I wouldnt want to do that."

No matter where Michael goes, there will be probably be a choir with a special place for just for him.
