A couple weeks of nice weather have the spring high school season in full swing, and that means the return of the Great 8. Usually a recap of just the past week, today's version includes 8 great performances from all spring thus far.
Number 8, Austin Gorman. Five goals and three assists, helping Aquinas to a win.
Number 7, Connor McDermott scored the overtime game winner Tuesday, part of a five goal game and a Pittsford victory.
Number 6, How about another Connor, Henderson from Canandaigua. 4 points helping to hand Fairport their first loss, then five more goals on the weekend, keeping the Braves unbeaten.
Number 5, Erin Nargi, Victor. A two hitter with 18 strikeouts in a win for the Blue Devils.
Number 4, Megan Coffey faced 15 hitters in a five inning win for Greece Odyssey, and struck out every one. The most perfect of perfect games.
Number 3, Nate Delone, Rush-Henrietta. Scored six goals in two different games, both wins for the Royal Comets.
Number 2, Stacy Kuwik tossed a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts in a 1-0 win for Fairport.
Number 1, wouldn't be a spring Great 8 without Briana Allen. She threw two no-hitters last week. On Thursday, she followed a no-hitter in the morning with a two-hitter in the afternoon including 25 combined strikeouts. Four wins all week with 48 K's, a big reason AQ had a nice spring break.
