Florida's ECHL Coach Coming To Rochester?

By: Thad Brown
Updated: April 15, 2008
All signs are pointing to the Florida Panthers taking over for the Sabres as the Amerks only parent club. Its very likely Rochesters new coach may come from that organization. Gerry Fleming has coached the Florida Everblades for seven years in the ECHL. The league is one level below the AHL, the league the Amerks call home. The Naples Daily News reported Sunday many players and coaches around the ECHL expect Fleming to become the new coach in Rochester. Fleming says he has not been contacted by anyone from the Amerks. In 2003-04 and 04-05, Fleming led the Everblades to the league finals. In 05-06, he guided Florida to the division finals.
