(Rochester) The Rochester Razorsharks slammed Arkansas on Sunday 142-114 to stake claim to the first ever Premier Basketball League Championship. The title game was played at Blue Cross Arena. Keith Friel led the scoring with 35 points en route to game MVP honors. The victory was the 45th straight home win for the Sharks. A game not without incident as one of the backboards was smashed in the first half as Sammy Monroe attempted a slam. The backboard shattered to pieces which caused a 45 minute delay toward the end of the first quarter. Today's Championship win marked the second in three seasons for the Sharks, who were denied a chance to defend their ABA title a year ago when the league fell prey to financial woes in the middle of the post-season.
