Scandalous Spitzer?

By: John Kucko
Updated: March 10, 2008
(New York) A stunning report in the New York Times links New York State Governor Eliot Spitzer to a prostitution ring. Spitzer made a brief statement from an office building in New York City this afternoon: "I apologize first to my family, I apologize to the public who I promised better." The Governor stopped short of resignation, as some media reports claimed. Governor Spitzer has carved a reputation as a tenacious "whistle-blower", driven by strong ethics. In the New York Times report, Spitzer was linked to some kind of unscrupulous activity in Washington, D.C. on February 13th involving the Emporer's VIP Club. Further details will be forthcoming on News 8 Now at 5 and 6:00pm.
