
Residents on Rochester's northwest side just got another option for grocery shopping. The doors opened Sunday morning at the new Price-Rite store on Dewey and Driving Park Avenue. The largest cooperative grocery store chain in the U.S. purchased the former Wegmans building last fall from the city after neighbors pushed for another food store in the neighborhood. Mayor Bob Duffy joined other Price-Rite officials for the opening ceremony this morning. Duffy says it took a lot of work to make this store happen. "And also working with all the parties to take proceeds from the sell from this property and invest it right back in the neighborhood businesses," says Duffy. One hundred jobs are expected to be created with the store's opening
