10-AVON2008-03-10-1205167081.jpgRochester girls basketball teams rarely lose to Buffalo girls teams and the trend continued Saturday. Shenise Johnson filled the stat sheet with 34 points, 25 rebounds, 11 assists and five steals to lead Rush-Henrietta to a 67-48 win over Jamestown in the Class AA State Quarterfinal at Finger Lakes Community College. Bernadette Davis added 15 points and Angelica Simmons scored 12. The Royal Comets qualify for their fourth straight state semifinal.

Joining the Comets will be Honeoye Falls-Lima. The Cougars held off Pioneer 64-60 in the Class A State Quarter. Anna Morien hit three late three pointers to preserve the HF-L lead.

At Class C, Avon rolled over Frewsburg 40-27. Marcy Manning led the Braves with 14 points.
