The city of Rochester wants students to be warm especially when they're not at school. That's why the city and the school district came together to hold a coat drive. Tuesday, well over 2,000 coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves were handed out at School Number Five.
Superintendent Jean Claude Brizard says the donations from the community show the kids that people care about them.
The donations were made through the Volunteers of America. Wednesday, the VOA will make another delivery to city schools.
