Car damages church on City's west side

carhitschurch2008-03-03-1204563516.jpgA church on the City's west side was badly damaged early Saturday morning after a car went crashing through a brick wall. Police say a man was driving drunk and slammed into the church at 770 Genesee Street around 1:30 Saturday morning.


No one was inside the church at the time and no one was hurt in the crash. The driver’s name has not been released but he was arrested and charged with DWI; police tell News 8 he was driving on a suspended license. Despite the damage, church members tell us services will continue Sunday.
