Bills sign Giants LB

ORCHARD PARK, NY - The Bills today announced that the team has signed free agent linebacker Kawika Mitchell. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.Mitchell is entering his sixth NFL season and spent last year with the Super Bowl Champion NY Giants and his first four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. Mitchell has started 66 of 75 career games, including all 16 the previous three seasons. He has tallied 450 tackles, eight sacks and four interceptions in his five NFL seasons. Mitchell, a product of
South Florida, was originally drafted in the second round (47th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft by Kansas City. He has also started five of six postseason games, including Super Bowl XLII earlier this year.
A native of Water Springs, FL, Mitchell recorded 87 tackles, 3.5 sacks and an interception in 2007. He also scored two touchdowns, one on a fumble recovery and the other on an interception.
