WalnutSt.Homicide2008-02-16-1203214779.jpgCrime scene tape stretched across the Walnut Street at the corner of Jay Street. Rochester police and detectives were combing the ice and snow covered streets and sidewalks looking for evidence in the citys’ latest shooting. Police were called out to the scene at about eleven Saturday morning. When they arrived they found the body of 26-year-old, Alyssa Brede, in the street. “Just a few minutes before 11 a-m officers were dispatched, several 9-11 calls for shots fired, person down. They responded and located a female in front of 69 Walnut street lying on the ground face down with a what appeared to be a gunshot wound to her back,”; said Deputy Chief Tony Perez. Police say EMS worked on the Brede at the scene. She was transported to Strong Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The shooting marked the second homicide in Rochester this year. On January 26th, 28 year old Jose Rivera was gunned down on Ellison Street. So far no arrests have been made in that case. Maudine Brown of Family and Friends of Murdered Children says she received a call this morning about this latest shooting. Sadly this happened today. We dont know the reason, what might have happened at this point, but most certainly it is a sad day here in the city of Rochester. If you have any information about this shooting call Rochester Police at 9-11.
