ABVIDELIVERSCOATSA2008-02-15-1203116533.jpgStudents at the Roberto Clemente School got a special delivery Friday, thanks to the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired- Goodwill of Rochester.

The school received 1,200 pieces of much needed winter clothing. Many students who attend the school walk to get there, so today's donation of 316 coats, 460 hats, 300 scarves and 200 pairs of gloves will be put to good use in the wind and cold temperatures of winter.  The clothes are left over from this season's winter apparel.

"Rather than warehousing the merchandise, we thought we would help out the school and meet a need particularly for the kids who have to walk to school.  We've got weather outside that we're probably going to have at least 4, 6, 8 more weeks of.  And to the extent that we can help kids stay warm keep them in school, keep them coming to school, it's consistent with our mission," says ABVI/Goodwill director Tim Gleason.

This is ABVI Goodwill's second year to donate these items.
