Forget flowers and chocolates, some people are getting a computer virus this Valentine's Day. It's already hit millions of computers around the world and struck thousands of times at Monroe Community College "It may look pretty and it may look like somebody really loves you, but they are trying to hurt us,” said David Lane, Assistant Director of Communication and Network Services at Monroe Community College.
The email subjects are sweet, "the dance of love" or "when loves comes knocking,” but the outcome is not so nice.
"Once you click on it it takes you to a website and you're infected,” said Lane.
On one day alone MCC stopped more than ten thousand emails with the virus from reaching students.
"You're always concerned about viruses getting on your computer, it can destroy all of your files,” said student Kate Koprowski. MCC student Kate Koprowski says she's now on the lookout. "Definitely the last thing you want, you want chocolates not viruses,” said Koprowski.
