Great 8 - 2/12/08

It's time for our weekly showcase of some of the very best efforts around Section Five sports.  Here's Thad Brown, who ranks and rattles off, our high school Great 8.

Number 8, Ashley Zahn, Canandaigua. Helped keep the Braves unbeaten with 18 points in a win over a very good Newark team.

Number 7, But the Reds got their revenge...Javon McCrea scored 22 as the Newark boys stayed perfect with a win over a very good Canandaigua team.

Number 6, Terrell Moore, Charlotte...triple double with 14 points, 13 boards and ten assists in a win.

Number 5, John Green, 30 points leading Wilson to a victory.

Number 4, Bridget Ryan, Sutherland. Two big double-doubles, 16 points and 19 boards Monday, then 17 and 21 Sunday...part of a 3-1 week for the Lady Knights.

Number 3, we finish with a bunch of milestones. Brittany Williams, 11 points in a Churchville win Thursday to surpass 1000 for her career.

Number 2, Bobby Bell posted a triple-double Tuesday with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, then added 13 more points Thursday to go over a thousand for his career.

Number 1, Sean Michele, East Rochester. 76 points in three games... all wins for the Bombers, including 23 in the middle contest...good enough to make him the third player in ER history to surpass 1000 points.
