HFAIRPORTATTHOMAS2008-02-11-1202749128.jpgWebster Thomas spent most of the season on top of Section Five hockey. Just not on Saturday. Fairport scored twice in the third period to break a 1-1 tie and went on to beat the Titans 3-1 at Webster Ice Arena. Noah Stancampiano scored the go-ahead goal and Gary Solomone added insurance for Fairport, who finished the season 14-7. Brett Bannon scored for Thomas (17-4). The Titans and McQuaid play a makeup game to close out the Section Five regular season on Tuesday. At Lakeshore, Canandaigua trailed BK/Eastridge 3-2 heading into the third period, but scored twice to pull out a 4-3 win and close the year as the only Section Five team with only one loss. Sam Post banged in the game-tying goal on a rebound and Conrad Saxby wristed home the game winner with under five minutes to play for the Braves (20-1-1). Kevin Holohan, Chad Brady and Riley Austin picked up the BK/Eastridge (10-9-1) goals.
