State Assemblyman David Gantt, Ministers Franklin Florence and Minister Ray Scott were arrested following a protest at the Monroe County Office Building Saturday morning. The Monroe County Legislature was scheduled to interview three candidates to head the Monroe County Public Defenders Office when the protest broke out. Gantt and others are protesting the County's selection process to replace Edward J. Nowak. Nowak retired in December after heading the office for 30 years. Dozen off people showed up to ask that the process be more inclusive and open to public input. The councils Public Safety committee is expected to make it;s recommendation to fill the spot at Tuesday's County Council meeting.
