Sheriff identifies Mendon man who died in early morning car crash

policelights2008-02-02-1201996782.jpgMonroe County Sheriff's deputies say 36 Amir Mahmood of Mendon died this morning after he lost control of his car and crashed in Pittsford. The accident happened around 9:30 this morning at the intersection of Clover Street and Lehigh Station Road in Pittsford. Investigators say Mahmood was driving his car north on Clover Street near Caulkins Road when he lost control of the car, went off the road, into an embankment, crashing into a telephone pole. Mahmood died at the scene.Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash, however, deputies tell News 8 they do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.
