Evenflo is voluntarily recalling a million Discovery Infant Car seats.
The company, along with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, says the seats could fail in certain collisions.
Tests by Evenflo and the NHTSA showed the Discovery Infant seats made between 2005 and 2008 may separate from their base in high-speed side crashes. The company said there have been no reports of deaths or serious injury related to the seats.
Recalled models are 390, 391, 534 and 552.
The NHTSA says those with the seats should continue to use them until they receive a new fastener, which will be shipped by mail.
