Here in Rochester, student volunteers are using Monday's time off to help out around the community.
Habitat for Humanity is building houses in the JOSANA neighborhood off Broad Street. At a house on Orange Street, student volunteers used their day off to help paint and do odd construction jobs around the house. Students say this volunteering is a good way to pay tribute to the late civil rights activist.
Monday's build is part of Flower City's Habitat For Humanity program called Building On A Dream that follows King's dream to bridge the racial divide.
