State aid cut to schools expected in Governor's budget address

SPITZER2008-01-20-1200887412.jpgNews 8 Now has confirmed that Governor Spitzer will cut $350 million dollars in state aid to schools in this year's budget. The Governor’s office tells News 8 that the decrease is due to current economic strains that are facing not only New York but the rest of the country. Aids to the Governor say the money will be put back into aid for schools over the next four years. The Governor is expected to make the school aid announcement as part of his budget address which is scheduled for Tuesday.
