moore2008-01-21-1200935713.jpgRochester's "Zero Tolerance" program is permanent. Friday, Rochester Police Chief, David Moore, says even more officers will be added to patrol city streets.

So far, the costs of the anti-crime initiative are at $2.8 million. Chief Moore says by adding 101 officers to the streets, he has to cut back on programs he was hoping to start this year in some of those high-crime neighborhoods.

The 101 officers will include, 48 desk duty officers, who will now go back on street patrol, 40 recruit officers, who are currently in the police academy, 3 officers on medical leave and 10 lateral officers in training. The officers will be added to the streets over the next 3 months.
