6-GREAT-82008-01-08-1199834355.jpgAfter a hiatus, it's back.....our weekly feature where we rank and read the top efforts from the Section V sports week.  Here's Thad Brown with our high School Great 8.


Number 8, the Great 8 wouldn't officially be back without an appearance from Shenise Johnson. 25 points leading R-H to a win.


Number 7, Brittany Williams, 25 points for Churchville-Chili in a big win at Webster Thomas.


Number 6, Joe Grana, Irondequoit. Scored these two goals to break a 1-1 tie and give the Eagles an important win against Churchville.


Number 5, Northstar's Jaanai Beckford. 17 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists in a victory Friday.


Number 4, Charles Jones scored 16 points, pulled down 8 boards, dished four assists and had this huge block leading Marshall to a W.


Number 3, 24 points, 14 board and 8 blocks, just another ho-hum day for Dane Miller in a Rush-Henrietta win.


Number 2, Kyle Downey, Fairport. 36 points, including five three pointers in a Red Raider win.


Number 1, speaking of Fairport, Allyson DiMagno scored 21 with 10 boards, 6 assists and seven steals. Filling the stat sheet as the Red Raiders handed Penfield it's first loss of the year.
