There is another turn in the debate over ambulance service to the City of Rochester. City Council  has called a special meeting of council next week. The announcement comes just 24 hours after Mayor Bob Duffy vetoed Council's recommendation to award the ambulance service contract to Rural Metro. Duffy backed Monroe Ambulance based on the recommendation of an executive committee which chose Monroe over rural metro based on its response times and new technology. Monroe ambulance says it may sue the city over the matter, alleging the bidding process was not only unfair but biased by city council members towards Rural Metro. City Council will meet in special session on Wednesday night.
