Canandaigua Girls Stun State Number 1 Newark

Ashley Zahn scored a game high 20 points and Canandaigua went punch for punch with Newark, pulling out a 37-35 win over the number one team in New York State Class A. The game was played at Canandaigua Friday night. The Braves trailed by seven going to the fourth quarter, but shut down Newark in the final eight minutes. Canandaigua won the final quarter 13-4. Kym Gordon made a pair of free throws with two minutes left to put the Braves in front for good. Canandaigua is now 9-0. Newark falls to 5-1.
