Mayor comes under fire at emergency meeting

Some frustrated and angry people packed into the village offices in East Rochester Thursday night. They fired questions at the newly elected, Mayor Jason Koon. Questions ranged from: Why did you ask for the resignation of nine administrators?, to: Will you hand in your resignation?Koon recently asked for administrator resignations and fired the village attorney about a week ago. At the emergency meeting Thursday, the board voted 3 to 2 to temporarily hire Harris Beach attorneys to represent the village. Koon was in the minority.
Koon did tell News 8 Now that asking for the resignations of nine administrators did not mean they were necessarily going to be fired. He says he will have more answers for the village of East Rochester at an organizational meeting Jan. 2.
