crimetape2007-12-08-1197165014.jpgA standoff Saturday evening on the City's northeast side ended in suicide. Officers responded to a house at 65 Requa Street after reports of shots fired inside the home just after 2 p.m. More than a dozen officers surrounded the house, setting up a staging point at 610 Hollenbeck Street. The standoff ended after three hours. Police were unable to make contact with anyone inside the home. Chief David Moore tells News 8 that a mother and 12 year old child ran from the house during the standoff. When police finally got inside the home officers found a man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police continue to investigate the incident.
