2NDGRADERS-WISHESTOTROOP2007-11-30-1196461762.jpgFriday, students at Ivan Green Elementary School in Irondequoit were busy writing letters to three soldiers, serving overseas in Iraq or Afghanistan. They also put together a DVD sharing a school spirit song.

"We figured the children, their voices and everything would kind of help the soldiers,  feel that connection back here especially if they have children of their own and they would know how much we appreciate what they do," says second grade teacher Sharon Gass.

To prepare for today, the students have been learning lessons all week about the issues overseas.
