Webster man killed on Chili Avenue in North Chili

CHILIFATALACCIDENTA2007-11-26-1196099310.jpgPolice are investigating a deadly accident in North Chili where a man was struck and killed by a car. It happened around 4:00 pm. Sunday afternoon in the 2800 block of Chili Avenue.

An 18-year-old woman from Chili was driving her car westbound when she noticed a man in the roadway. Sheriff's deputies say 37 year old David Johnson of Webster had parked his truck and trailer on the shoulder of the road. He was coming out from behind the trailer toward the road when he was struck. Police say the driver tried to avoid hitting Johnson. Johnson was taken to Strong Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver, whose name has not been released, suffered minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
