A-Rod MVP, Close To Re-Signing; Rivera Back

By: Thad Brown
Updated: November 19, 2007
Alex Rodriguez is in the process of getting a new contract, but no such wait for A-Rods next trophy. Rodriguez won his third MVP award Monday after a season with 54 homers, 156 RBIs and 143 runs scored. During a conference call today, A-Rod said hes trade all three MVPs for one world championship. As for his contract negotiations with the Yanks, Rodriguez says they are "in the bottom of the fifth." That must mean Mariano Riveras negotiations just got the last out in the ninth. Rivera reportedly will re-sign with the Yanks for three years and 45 million dollars. The contract makes Rivera the highest pai reliever in baseball history.
