Rochester Red Wing fans you may notice something new at the ball park next season. Frontier Field is getting a facelift. A massive field renovation project is nearing completion.
A new surface means a major improvement here at Frontier Field.
“This is as good as any major league field in the country,” says stadium director Jim LeBeau.

“They will notice because of the compaction in certain areas was more or less than other areas you would have a little bit of ripple in some cases,” says LeBeau.

After the grass is in place, crews will cover it with a tarp for the winter.
The project costs around one million dollars and that was paid for by a grant for the state.
