The man picked to be the next superintendent of Rochester schools touched down in town Tuesday night. We were the only station there to greet Brizard as he stepped off his plane tonight. He will leave his post as senior executive for policy and sustainability in the New York City school district. Brizard says he is excited for the new job, but he will need the help of everyone in the community to make things happen.
"I'm very excited this is what I've been doing for the past 22 years of my life and I feel prepared and ready. The one thing I can tell you is we are going to make it personal, this is about every kid in Rochester,” said Brizard.
“The first thing I need to do is make sure we talk to everyone, meet everyone in the central administration. You're going to find me in churches, you're going to find me in the communities, you're going to find me talking to students, and you’re going to find me talking to teachers and principals to really get an understanding and feeling for what's been going on in Rochester."
Brizard will be officially introduced by the school board Wednesday afternoon.
