Dangerous Curves

Make no mistake. Those who living near the scene of a traffic accident which claimed a Batavia couple and their two young sons on Sunday are grieving over the tragedy. But at the same time, those who know well the curved stretch of NYS Route 63 in the Genesee County town of East Bethany where the tragedy occurred, at not necessarily surprised by it.
That's because they have seen their fair share of such tragedies on a highway they claim is poorly designed to accomodate the heavy traffic and high speeds, particularly of large trucks, which they say has become commonplace.
