Student rescued from 33 Upton Park is improving

A college student rescued from a deadly fire early Friday morning is improving. Michael DiCocco is now in stable condition at Strong Memorial Hospital. DiCocco was critically hurt when Rochester firefighters pulled him out of a burning home he shared with 4 other RIT students at 33 Upton Park near Atlantic and U University Avenues. DiCocco is an industrial design student from Canastota, near Syracuse. Six-students were inside when the fire broke out on upton park just after 2:30 a.m. Friday morning. Two jumped out of windows to safety, two others never made it out. 21-year old Seth Policzer of Parkland Florida, and 21-year old Syed Ali Turab of New Milford, New Jersey were found dead inside. The cause of the fire is still being determined.
