Brace yourself for home heating bills this winter

Heating costs this winter could hit your wallet hard this season. Gas and electric bills are expected to spike $100 per household, oil up by $300.Thursday, Senator Chuck Schumer announced that he's sent a letter to the President to release rainy-day funds to help Upstate New Yorkers heat their homes. "We want the President to take the $150 million in reserve...and put that out there so people will be able to pay their heating bills and not have to set their thermostat down to 55 this winter."
The Rochester-Finger Lakes Region is expected to see an increase of more than $59 million in home heating costs this winter.
