At the start of rush hour Monday, Rochester Police were called downtown after a teen was shot at the corner of Main and St. Paul Streets.
Police say the victim, Kentrell Trammel, 17, was in a vehicle with several others when they saw the suspect standing on the sidewalk. The victim and the suspect had been in an ongoing dispute. Police say after the driver got out the car, the suspect opened fire and shot Trammel in the chest.
The suspect, Curtis Jones, 17, then allegedly fled on foot and was located inside the Clarion Hotel downtown.
Jones is now facing assault and weapons charges. Trammel is being treated at Strong Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
